Lan-party date set for July!

July 11, 2007 by legodude522

Lan-party at my house is scheduled for Saturday July 28th. Anyone who wants to go, please email me at Legodude522@gmail.com or leave a comment. To prevent crowding, not everyone who wants to go will be able to go.  Please talk to me and I will make a list.  The lan will most likely max out at 10 people.  I’ll post a list of everyone who is going.

Drinks and snacks will be provided. We will be ordering pizza so please bring money if you want to buy pizza. A case of Bawls energy drinks will be bought prior to the lan. It will probably be $2-2.50 per bottle. I will see how much it is after buying a case. Time is yet to be finalized. Most likely 12 noon till 8:30pm.

  • Please bring your own games.
  • The objective is to play games and have fun. Do not kill the fun :-)
  • Everyone gets a chance to say what they want to play.

Email me for directions and my phone number to contact me. The lan will be in my basement. Almost done with cleaning my basement.  Here are some current pictures.

4 PCs should fit well on this dinning table.

And here is room for 2-3 more tables fitting 2 people per table.

And a pool/air hockey table in case anyone needs a break.

Welcome to Jeff’s Lan Party Blog

I created this blog page to make lan party announcements, discuss, and to share about experiences.

Expect more to come soon.

Wikipedia’s definition of a Lan party-

A LAN party is a temporary, sometimes spontaneous, gathering of people together on their computers, which they network together primarily for the purpose of playing multiplayer computer games. These local area networks (LANs) come in various sizes, from very small (two people) to very large (more than 6,500 people). Small parties can form spontaneously, but large ones usually require a fair amount of planning and preparation on the part of the organizer.

LAN party events differ significantly from gaming centers and Internet cafes in that they are generally bring your own computer (BYOC)[1] and are not permanent installations, often taking place in general meeting places or residences.

LAN party attendees tend to be more experienced gamers, as the setup required turns most casual gamers away. People who prefer LAN party gaming to Internet or other multiplayer gaming types favor the term “LANner”.
